The team not only has an impressive array of skills in the E&P sector, but also has a solid IT background to implement oil and gas best practices onto technological platforms.

Barry Irani, President & Chief Executive Officer

Prior to joining iStore in 1997, Barry spent 25 years at Enserch Exploration Inc., where he served in various technical and management positions, including EVP of Operations. His responsibilities included worldwide operations, acquisitions and divestitures, interaction with the financial community, and raising capital in the equity markets. In addition, Barry has served on multiple boards including Canyon Reef Carriers, MediSend International, UpstreamInfo.com, RETC, and SB International. He was also on the Chairman’s Advisory Council of the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation of India and the Petroleum Engineering Advisory Board at the University of Oklahoma.

Barry earned a Bachelor’s degree in Physics and Chemistry from the University of Bombay, Bachelor and Master’s degrees in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Oklahoma, and is a graduate of the Harvard Business School Program for Management Development.


Iain Morison, Ph.D., Chief Technology Officer

Iain launched his career at Marconi Avionics, later moving to ICI where he worked in process control and computer-aided design. He then joined the British National Oil Company (BNOC) in 1981. In the following 12 years, as BNOC became Britoil and was later acquired by BP, Iain worked on a variety of systems, covering the technical and business aspects of oil exploration and production. He then spent several years with the Petrotechnical Open Software Consortium (POSC) developing standards to improve integration and information sharing within the industry. 

Iain holds a Master of Arts degree in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge and a PhD in Physics from Leicester University in the United Kingdom.


Oscar Teoh, Chief Knowledge Officer

Oscar pioneered 3D seismic interpretation workstation software at Texas Instruments introducing interactive concepts into the workplace. He joined Sohio in 1981 and led software engineers from Standard Oil and BP in the implementation of integrated workstations. In the early 1990s he helped create POSC and served as Technical Director for the industry-standards group. He then served as the principal investigator for BP’s knowledge management initiative to facilitate collaboration between global virtual teams and knowledge-based systems to capture best practices within teams and organizations. 

Oscar received his Bachelor and Master’s degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas in Austin.


Alfredo Eloy, Chief Director Officer

A co-founder of The Information Store, Alfredo Eloy offers consulting services to clients developing information systems architecture. Alfredo launched his career as a geologist in mining and petroleum exploration. He then developed an interest in information systems, prompting Alfredo to join W. R. Grace, a chemical and manufacturing company, where he managed large information systems departments. In 1986, Alfredo joined Digital Equipment Corp. (now part of Compaq) as a consultant and marketing manager. Then, in 1992, Alfredo became an independent consultant in strategic planning and developed a practice with several major oil and gas companies. In 1994, he co-founded The Information Store. He led several projects and delivered consulting to many clients in the area of information systems architecture.

Alfredo earned a bachelor's degree in geology from the University of São Paulo, Brazil, and a master's degree in mathematics and computer sciences from the University of Denver.
